title: Configuration
description: The settings worth knowing about.
---

## Desktop app

Most of the app works without any configuration. The parts you can change:

- **Cameras.** Choose which cameras to use, up to three. Cameras are matched to
  the board during [calibration](/setup/calibration).
- **Tracking.** Start and stop detection, and recalibrate, from the sidebar.
- **Web UI.** Shows the board's address and ID, and opens the scoreboard in a
  browser. See [Scoring & displays](/web-app/displays).
- **Updates.** The app checks the release feed and installs updates when you ask
  it to. See [Installation](/getting-started/installation).
- **Logging and diagnostics.** Detection logs are written only while profiling is
on, so a board left running does not accumulate them. Set `DARTPILOT_LOG=trace`
for per-frame detail, or `DARTPILOT_DIAGNOSTICS=on` to write diagnostics
  regardless of profiling.

## Headless boards

A headless board has no settings screen. Everything is set with flags or
environment variables, listed on [Headless boards](/setup/headless).
